I made my first pitch to Harlequin Publishers yesterday. Thank you Associate Editor Megan Long for your time and excellent feedback! I will be submitting a new manuscript to the Harlequin Heartwarming line later this year and then it’s fingers crossed!
What am I working on? A story set in one of my favourite places, the Shushap region of the British Columbia interior. A classic city-girl-meets-outdoorsy guy, a beautiful lake setting and a logging town filled with interesting (and often eccentric) characters.
I spent all my childhood summers in this beautiful part of B.C. so it feels like home to me. I’m very excited about this current Work in Progress. I’m also thinking of writing a Western Romance, set near my home town in Alberta, Canada – more to come on that later!
Thank you to the Calgary Chapter of the Romance Writers of America for a fantastic workshop yesterday in Calgary. Speakers were Associate Editor Megan Long from Harlequin, who talked about Hybrid Publishing and Alberta author Adam Dreece (think Steampunk meets Fairy Tales) talk about Marketing.
So much fun to see all my writing friends…love you guys.
Now back to the computer for more creating!
